Hi Bruno,
Jade should handle packages and Monticello pretty well. From the System Browser create a package by using ‘Add Package…’ in the Packages menu or in the context menu for the package list. Then add classes to the package by changing the class category to match the package (drag-and-drop does not work yet). You can add methods to the package by placing them in a method category with the package name (see examples in Collection).
Ensure that the repository is defined in the Monticello Browser (available from the Jade menu on the Transcript, <Ctrl>+<M>, or the package icon on the toolbar). If necessary, select ‘Add…’ from the Repository menu or the repository list context menu, and for ss3.gemtalksystems.com select ‘HTTP’ and proceed to describe the path (user and password are optional, but should be included if you will upload something).
Next, add the repository to the package from the System Browser. Select the new package and then select the ‘Package’ tab in the lower half of the window (it is at the other end from the method source). In the lower half of the tab there is a list of repositories (with columns for type, description, user, and password). By default, there will be an internal cache, of type Dictionary. Bring up the context menu (right click) and select ‘Add Repository’. This should bring up a list of repositories; select one and observe that it has been added to the list of repositories associated with the package.
To save a package to the repository select the new repository, right click, and select ‘Save’. This will give you an opportunity to enter a version name and message if there have been any changes (if not, then it simply saves the existing package to the new location). You can also select ‘Save Package..’ from the Package menu or the context menu in the package list.
I see that there is an ‘Add Package…’ menu option in the Monticello Browser. I’ll take a look at either removing it or making it work. I guess I always use the System Browser.
Let us know how that works.
